The Institute for Regional and Migration Research (IRM) e.V. is chartered in the District Court of Trier and registered by the Tax Office of Trier as a charitable organization. At the present time the Executive Board of the organization is: Thomas Geisen (Management), Yasemin Ahi and Ulla Peters.

The yearly membership dues in IRM e.V. are currently € 30 for single persons and € 60 for institutions or groups. The proceeds from membership dues are used for carrying out organizational purposes. The purpose of the organization is outlined in § 2 (1) of the rules, among others:

The purpose of the organization is research into

1. the causes, conditions and consequences ofmigratory processes (migration research) and
2. economic and social developments in regional contexts (regional research)

As much as possible these two main research emphases shall be derived from and connected to one another. Relating to this basic research is carried out and research tasks are undertaken.

If you are interested in membership, we would like to ask you to print out the application for membership and to send the completed application to our mail address. We are at your disposal for all questions regarding membership.

You can also support our activities through donations. The donation, for which you will receive a receipt, is tax-deductible. Our banking connection is through Sparkasse Trier: Account Number 422287, Routing Number (BLZ 585 501 30). Don't forget to include the keyword “Donation” with your request for the transfer of funds to our account.

For the purpose of financing our publication projects we have established a separate fund. For donations to be used exclusively for this purpose, please use the keyword „Funds for Publication“ along with your request for the transfer of funds.
