The Institute for Regional and Migration Research intends to regularly sponsor special events in the form of international conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops. The special events serve to encourage the exchange of information and communication about research in the areas of regional and migration research, which we deem important for interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue.
Over and above that the special events also serve to foster the transfer of knowledge between diverse groups (politicians, labor unionists, representatives of special interest groups, teachers, employees in government offices, workers in various areas of education, further education, and culture, especially social workers) and the general public. In this sense IRM can be seen as a facilitator, which is active in the area of general political education.
